The Coasts - Handshakers
Are you one of those people who believe that popular music reached its apex in 1962? Do you long for the days when Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley ruled the airwaves? Even if you are not, then I am sure you will find something to like in American duo The Coasts.
"Handshakers" is a throwback to the rock & roll stylings of yesteryear, with its doo-wop backing vocals, but with sufficiently un-rock & roll chord progressions adding a extra level of enjoyment. And as just to prove that 2011 is the year of the sax, the infectious instrument pops up intermittently throughout the song.
"Handshakers" is available to download for free through Paper Garden Record's Lovely Hearts Club.
