Brett Anderson did make very un-Suede music on his solo albums, which were quite hit (Black Rainbows) and miss (Wilderness, 2/3 of BA). Having said that, an album that is merely good by Suede standards is still better than many band's best albums, and I do imagine that it will be among my top albums of the year come December time.
